Our topic for our final presentation was Geolocation Intergration. Basically, we had to research and talk about this for our final presenetation. Our group members were me (Kazuya), Adam, Lauren, and KC.
In order to complete this project, we used some applications, including Twitter, Google Docs, and Linkedin. First, Lauren set up a Google Doc group for everyone to communicate smothly within our groups. Creating a googl doc group was very great thing, because we all were able to check out what was going on our group and what we needed to get done with our project. Next, KC set up a Twitter hashtag named after our group “The Geo Geeks”. The hashtag was #geo_geeks, and was used to share articles together. Whenever we found a website or article with useful information for our project, we tweeted those links on our hastag (#geo_geeks). Wee were able to access those easily and effectively. Finally, Adam set up a LinkedIn group, The Geo Geeks, but we really didn’t use this application at all.
In general, we found articles and some information through Google Alerts. We all registerd “geolocation”, so everyday we all got some information and shared them with our team. This made finding information extremely easy and efficiently. After we all found a good information, we finaly discussed about how we are going to do each part of the project. After we decided that, each group member finished each part by him or herself. However, we used the chat feature in Google Docs to discuss certain aspects of the project when it was being put together.
Overall, this was an fun project to work on, because were able to work from our own homes. We did not have to set up a date or time to meet. It made time management incredibly easy, and made the entire project completely not stressful. Because of this experience, I will use these applications when I work on future projects later in my career.
